Mentorship that walks beside you,
and a community that refuses to let you fall through the cracks.
“Fringe Care is a volunteer‑run, not‑for‑profit led by people with lived experience, and we hold DGR status so all donations are tax‑deductible.”
Fringe Care exists for people who are rebuilding their lives and looking for a community that sees their worth.
We believe change happens through relationships—steady, human, and grounded in dignity.
Our work centers on mentoring that listens first, supports growth, and walks beside people as they navigate the realities of life after hardship or incarceration.
We’re a community built on mutual accountability, shared learning, and the belief that everyone deserves a place to belong.
Whether someone is taking their first steps toward stability or seeking deeper connection and purpose, Fringe Care offers guidance without judgement and support without conditions.
Our mentors, volunteers, and community partners work together to create spaces where people can grow, contribute, and rediscover their own strength.
We don’t promise quick fixes. We offer something better: real relationships, practical support, and a community committed to walking the long road together.
“Mentoring grounded in lived experience, and growth that happens one step at a time.”
“Trauma‑aware training shaped by lived experience, preparing mentors to walk with others one steady step at a time.”
“Building a community where people can gather, connect, and find support — with a drop‑in space on the way.”
WOW what a year in my year with Fringe I have been made new.
A year ago, I was a different man lost and alone. I felt I had no way out of the situation.
It felt like the world was made for my punishment.
At Christmas, I tried to end it all.
Now I am at peace and I have found a brotherhood who loves and supports me through life.
While I have been at The Fringe I have been blessed to be walking with the fringe.
I do not know what the future holds, but I am looking forward to seeing whats next.
Loving life on the fringe.
I work as a criminal defence solicitor in south-east Queensland and have worked in criminal law for the past fourteen years.
During the time I have worked in this position, I have represented numerous clients in a broad variety of circumstances, including persons with serious substance abuse issues, mental health issues, and traumatic family backgrounds.
. However, it has become evident that a significant number of my clients, who have best recovered from their issues and who cease to re-offend, have done so with the assistance of Fringe.
I had the pleasure of meeting ***** from Fringe
They were providing both assistance and guidance to a long-term client of mine.
I could see an enormously positive change in my client in the months that he had engaged with Fringe, and it is very apparent that my client has been greatly assisted by his engagement with them.
I was lost battling addiction and facing down my third suicide attempt when Ron and Fringe found me.
They walked with me helped me to see hope where I lest expected to find it.
It as the sign said no Bullshit they really care it took a long time to accept that they were not going anywhere and that they loved me when I had never felt accepted or loved in my life before.
Looking forward to what tomorrow brings first the first time in my life and loving it
